SMDS-XII: Uttarakhand

The Twelfth edition of Summit was held at Dr. Nityanand Auditorium, Doon University, Uttarakhand from 26 to 27 September 2025. The theme of the summit was “Changing Agro-ecological Landscape & Disasters in Himalaya: Resilience Building and Policy Imperatives for Viksit Bharat”.

SMDS 2025 is partnered with the Department of Geography and Geology, Dr Nityanand Himalayan Research & Study Center, Doon University, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) , National Mission for Himalayan Studies (NMHS), Centre for Public Policy and Good Governance (CPPGG), Uttarakhand Council for Science & Technology (UCOST), Government of Uttarakhand, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Himmotthan Society, Sustainable Development Forum Uttaranchal (SDFU), SARG India, Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation and International Center for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD).

Ms. Vibha Puri Das (Councilor, SDFU), Dr. Gopal Singh Rawat (Vice-Chairman, SDFU), Ms. Binita Shah (Secretary, SDFU) and Dr. Vinod Bhatt (Member, SDFU), Sri Anoop Nautiyal (Member, SDFU), Dr. Avinash C Joshi (Member, SDFU) & Dr. Pankaj Naithani (Member, SDFU) from Uttarakhand state chapter were present at the two-day summit.
