President of Indian Mountain Initiative (IMI) Shri. Sushil Ramola visited Dehradun for an interface with councilors, members of SDFU and participants from various stakeholder institutions of Uttarakhand on 19 June 2018. Dr Rajendra Dobhal, DG UCOST and Chairman of SDFU welcomed all the participants. Shri Sushil Ramola presented a comprehensive presentation on IMI and its initiatives that are currently taking place in the Indian Himalayan Region. Shri Ramola gave an overview of how IMI served to achieve the objective and mission of the mountain states. He informed that IMI functioned as a platform for the expression of views of various stakeholders, people from various backgrounds at the grassroots level. He informed me that IMI has a current focus on four themes i.e. Climate Change, Mountain Agriculture & Livelihood, Disaster Risk Reduction and Sustainable Mountain Cities.
